Position Overview:
Improvix Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to support the Department of State’s ExecTech program. This role involves providing hands-on cloud engineering expertise, automation, and infrastructure management in a highly secure Windows and Linux hybrid cloud environment utilizing both AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with experience in cloud automation, infrastructure as code, and DevOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Automation: Maintain and update build automation scripts, continuously optimizing cloud deployments.
- Hybrid Cloud Support: Provide hands-on support for Windows and Linux environments across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure cloud security best practices, perform regular updates, and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Automation & CI/CD: Design and implement Continuous Delivery Frameworks using open-source tools, ensuring adherence to CI/CD principles.
- Configuration Management: Utilize Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef to manage cloud infrastructure efficiently.
- Containerization & Microservices: Implement and manage container-based solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Network & Storage Management: Support Cascades networking, security, and storage by managing on-premise and cloud-integrated solutions.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Maintain clear communication with IRM, cloud partners, and internal teams, ensuring well-documented cloud architectures and policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, networking, and infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Experience in automation & configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, or Batch.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Deep understanding of Linux internals and core system services (DNS, SMTP, Syslog, IPTables, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Git, version control workflows, and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages such as Golang, C#, Java, or C .
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in hybrid cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation.
- Experience managing cloud-based DevOps infrastructure and supporting federal agencies.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud networking, security, and storage integrations.
- Ability to support enterprise cloud migrations and optimize cloud environments for cost, security, and performance.
