The Business Analyst - GCP Platform will support the analysis, documentation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires expertise in business process analysis, Agile methodologies, cloud governance, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, security, and project management teams to ensure GCP implementations align with business objectives and federal compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Process Analysis & Improvement: Evaluate current GCP-related business processes and recommend enhancements to drive efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and project managers to capture business and system requirements for GCP cloud projects.
- GCP Cloud Governance & Compliance: Support alignment of cloud solutions with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD compliance requirements.
- Agile & Scrum Methodology: Actively participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, and Retrospectives to bridge business and technical priorities.
- Stakeholder Communication & Liaison: Act as a liaison between federal clients, cloud engineers, and leadership, ensuring goals and progress are clearly communicated.
- Data Tracking & Reporting: Leverage tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Looker or Google Data Studio to manage tasks, track risks, and generate actionable reports.
- GCP Platform Support: Assist cloud teams with business requirements tied to GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, and BigQuery.
- Process Automation & Workflow Optimization: Contribute to automation initiatives in cloud provisioning, identity access control, and operations workflows.
- Training & User Adoption: Support change management and end-user training to ensure adoption of GCP services across the organization.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify compliance risks, technical blockers, and business gaps, providing mitigation strategies and escalation paths.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in business analysis, process improvement, or IT project support, with at least 2 years in a GCP or multi-cloud environment.
- Certifications: Google Cloud Digital Leader or Associate Cloud Engineer certification preferred.
- Agile & Scrum Expertise: Hands-on experience with Agile project tracking tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Cloud Governance & Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) in a cloud context.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Familiarity with Looker, Google Sheets, or similar tools to support reporting and dashboard creation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language for stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience supporting federal or public sector cloud initiatives.
- Knowledge of GCP Identity & Access Management (IAM), service accounts, and RBAC models.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines within GCP (Cloud Build, Cloud Source Repositories).
- Familiarity with GCP cost optimization tools and FinOps principles.
