Job Summary :
Impulse is looking for a highly skilled and experienced PACS Project Manager to oversee the planning, deployment, and optimization of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading PACS implementation projects, managing cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of medical imaging technologies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Planning and Execution :
- Lead the full lifecycle of PACS implementation projects, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resources, budgets, and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (including radiology departments, IT, clinical teams, and vendors) to define project scope and deliverables.
- Stakeholder Management :
- Act as the primary point of contact for all PACS-related matters between internal teams (e.g., IT, clinical departments) and external vendors or consultants.
- Regularly communicate project status, milestones, and risks to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on objectives and project progress.
- Vendor Coordination and Management :
- Work closely with PACS vendors and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of hardware, software, and support services.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
- Oversee vendor relationships to ensure the quality of service and adherence to project timelines.
- System Configuration and Integration :
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and integration of PACS solutions with other hospital information systems (HIS), radiology information systems (RIS), electronic health records (EHR), and other clinical systems.
- Ensure that PACS is properly configured to meet the technical, regulatory, and clinical needs of the healthcare organization.
- Testing and Quality Assurance :
- Ensure comprehensive testing of PACS solutions, including system integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation in compliance with healthcare regulations (such as HIPAA or HL7 standards).
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during testing and ensure smooth transition to production.
- Training and Support :
- Develop and execute training programs for users, including radiologists, technicians, IT staff, and other healthcare professionals on PACS system functionalities and workflows.
- Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of any post-implementation issues that arise.
- Compliance and Documentation :
- Ensure all PACS implementations meet regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA, DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine), and HL7 standards.
- Document all processes, configurations, and modifications in the system to ensure compliance and for future reference.
- Budget and Resource Management :
- Manage project budgets, ensuring that the PACS project is completed within financial constraints.
- Allocate resources efficiently, balancing the demands of the project with available team capacity.
- Risk Management :
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery and operations.
- Proactively address challenges related to system integration, user adoption, and infrastructure scalability.
- Post-Implementation Review :
- Lead the post-implementation evaluation to assess the success of the PACS system, gather feedback from users, and identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend improvements or updates to optimize PACS performance and user experience.
