What does the Client Reporting team do?
The Client Reporting team at IMS focuses on delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and analyses for both internal and external clients. They handle tasks ranging from month-end accounting closes and preparing detailed profitability and inventory reports to assisting in annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes. Additionally, the department plays a key role in audit compliance, project activity reconciliation, and enhancing client working capital positions through strategic collaboration across teams.

What You’ll Do
IMS is currently seeking an Accountant I , Client & Reporting for our Skokie, IL location. You will be responsible for accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysis for industry leading clients reporting to the team lead. This position works closely with cross functional groups.

What You’ll Do
IMS is currently seeking an Accountant I , Client & Reporting for our Skokie, IL location. You will be responsible for accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysis for industry leading clients reporting to the team lead. This position works closely with cross functional groups.
Below is a sample of role responsibilities:
- Support accurate and timely month end general accounting close and reporting process execution
- Prepare month end journal entries
- Prepare accounting transactions
- Produce internal client financial reports at business unit level
- Produce external client inventory reporting and spend detail
- Assist with data collection and reports needed in preparation of annual client budgets and monthly forecasts
- Meet deliverable deadlines
- Query large amounts of data from ERP system and extract relevant data points needed to prepare reports for internal and/or client
- Reconcile client project activity across segments such as warehousing, freight and in store POS marketing materials
- Maintain documented process and procedures
- Support and provide quality documentation on IMS policy and audit control compliance
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Adhere to audit control requirements
- Support other finance team functions to maximize client working capital position
- Proactively communicate and escalate issues and concerns to team leadership
- Develop and maintain positive partnerships within finance and cross functional teams
- Ask questions and seek out opportunity to grow professionally
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Economics
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, with excellent communication skills
- Strong Excel skillset is an absolute must (Pivot table creation, VLOOKUP, If/then formulas, etc)
- General ease learning new systems and tools
- Experience with ERP i.e., JD Edwards/AS 400 queries
- Relevant internship experience and/ or 1 years of work experience considered
