What’s the opportunity?
IMS is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator to work in our Kenosha, WI facility. The Logistics Coordinator will be assigned as a key account contact responsible for transportation management activities. This includes freight rate setup into our TMS, freight reconciliation, freight analytics, new and current business analysis, load planning, mode determination and carrier selection to determine and recommend the most cost-effective transportation solution. Management of all modes of transportation for both domestic and international will be required. Experience within freight payment management through a factoring company, or 3rd party freight management system will be emphasized within this role.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Managing various transportation activities; receiving incoming inquiries; checking emails; making outbound calls to clients and performing several other tasks as required by logistics Management.
- Daily tracking of shipments across all modes of transportation
- Work directly with current client and client account management to develop, interpret, and advise on logistics analytics, cost save reporting and best practice transportation practices.
- Extensive telephone contact with shipping locations directing load planning with freight carriers to meet client fulfillment requirements.
- Work directly with IMS new business leads to complete requested analysis for potential IMS clients or ad-hoc work. This includes preparation and presentation of logistics reports and administrative reports.
- Monitor 3rd party freight payment system to determine proper resolution of freight invoice adjustments and act on improvement opportunities to reduce variances.
- Manage and determine cost effective transportation services related to client transportation.
- Manage OS&D claims mitigation including carrier negotiation to reduce client/IMS exposure.
- Daily management of OEM’s and vendors to determine best rate, route and shipment consolidation planning including expediting, tracing, and tracking error resolution.
- Freight rate setup within our TMS system. This includes interpretation and understanding of carrier contracts.
- Preferred 3 years of transportation management.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Must be an advanced user of Excel, and be able to manage pivot tables, v-lookups, and additional advanced formulas.
- Understanding of carrier pricing agreements.
- Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Must be able to multitask with ability to prioritize multiple projects and requests under tight timelines.
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team.
- IBM iSeries or similar PC system experience required.
