What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics/Radar Technician position at IMSAR?
Our company exists to promote and protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We do this by designing, building, and supporting sophisticated synthetic aperture radar assemblies. Our core expertise is in small, lightweight, high performance multi-mode radar systems for unmanned and manned aircraft. We cover the entire life-cycle, often beginning with defining a market where none exists, designing and building the product, training the customer on how to use the system, and supporting it in the field.
We have some exciting opportunities and we are looking to grow our team by bringing on an electronics/radar technician. We need someone with the skills and experience required to test, qualify and repair electronic PCA's and our radar systems. You'll learn how to operate and become an expert in running and repairing our radar systems. Learning the function and purpose of each PCA, cable and subassembly culminating with the final radars. We have many different versions of our products, and there is always something exciting and new to work on. You'll be constantly learning, evolving and cross training.
These are some of the things that are important to us:
- You love working on and with electronics
- You love to learn and you enjoy solving problems with circuit boards and assemblies
- You can read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling and repairing electronics and radar systems
- You're comfortable working with command-line interfaces and with Linux
- You are familiar with setting up and operating complex test equipment to evaluate performance of parts, assemblies and radar systems
- You're familiar with and able to use RF and Digital test equipment
- You have pride in promoting and executing quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, documents and reports
- You prefer an organized and clean manufacturing environment, and will do your part to keep it that way
- You can or want to learn to hand solder components to IPC Class 3 specifications repairing as needed
Preferred experiences:
- A background in electronics theory. A minimum of 2 years of electrical/electronics coursework, 2-year degree with electronics major, or equivalent military occupational training in electronics.
- The ability to troubleshoot faulty circuits to component level.
- The ability to work a 40-hour work week.
