What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floating Traffic Assistant position at IMTT?
The Floating Traffic Assistant position is responsible for coordinating product transfers, inspections, and other operational activities. This includes scheduling marine, truck, and rail activities. This position reports directly to the Director of Scheduling & Marketing. This position resides at the St. Rose Terminal but also provides support to the Avondale Terminal.

Responsibilities
- Interface with customers, inspectors and vessel personnel for the purpose of reporting operational status.
- Interface between the Traffic/Inventory department and the Bulk department.
- Scheduling of product movement in conjunction with the Shift Foreman.
- Preparation and verification of product movement accountability.
- Monitor high level alarms.
- Notification of spills and emergencies to proper authorities both inside and outside of IMTT.
- Perform tank space checks.
- Record inventory by movement.
- Maintain movement loss.
- Maintain centralized data.
- Schedule all modes of transportation of product into and out of the facility.
- Represent IMTT with customers and agents.
- Maintain a detailed, working knowledge of facility operational capabilities.
- Investigate product discrepancies.
- Secure and maintain SDS.
- Investigate customer problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT's terminal locations.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to understand and communicate in written and verbal communication in the English language.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work closely with others with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others
- Ability to interact with vendors, service providers, and employees in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to learn and adapt in a growing and changing environment
- This is a full-time position. Typical hours of operation require this position to work at night, on weekends, and holidays on a regular rotating shift as well as overtime as necessary. This is a 12-hour position.
- This position requires overtime and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
- Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.
