IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is recruiting a SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST for our Beaumont, TX client.
The Senior Environmental Specialist plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations concerning air quality, water management, and waste handling. Core responsibilities include analyzing environmental compliance data, overseeing the site’s waste program, compiling emissions data for reporting purposes, identifying potential compliance gaps, and implementing corrective measures as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver environmental training to plant personnel and maintain communication with State and Federal regulatory agencies.
Review daily environmental reports from DCS and document any anomalies as potential Title V deviations.
Oversee the management of the stormwater and wastewater systems.
Ensure full compliance with hazardous and non-hazardous waste regulations.
Support audit activities by providing accurate, timely, and transparent documentation and responses.
Stay up to date on HSEQ standards by engaging in ongoing professional development.
Handle interactions with local, state, and federal environmental agencies, including preparing permits, applications, waste registrations, regulatory plans, reports, and notifications.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies according to established deadlines.
Assist other HSEQ team members with monthly, semi-annual, and annual reporting requirements.
Lead and update environmental training programs as needed.
Uphold ethical standards and act with integrity in all job functions.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Provide support to other departments and administrative personnel as required.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience, and Training:
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
- Related degree would be considered an asset
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer Proficiency: Strong skills in updating spreadsheets and working with email platforms. Experience with SAP is preferred.
