Systems Engineer – MBSE, Requirements Derivation, and System Architecture
Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000

In-Depth Engineering Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer with a strong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support advanced Department of the Navy development programs. This position is centered on the Electronic Warfare – Micro-Adaptive Trainer (EW-MAT) program and focuses on defining, modeling, and refining system architectures and requirements to support the development of cutting-edge adaptive training technologies for the submarine warfare domain.
This role will be performed on-site at our Research and Development Lab in Columbia, MD, within a collaborative, mission-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Apply MBSE principles to define and refine system architectures, interfaces, and behaviors
• Derive and manage system and subsystem requirements using formal modeling practices
• Develop and maintain system design artifacts using tools such as Enterprise Architect, SysML, or equivalent modeling environments
• Support requirements traceability across the system lifecycle using structured, tool-agnostic approaches
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with mission needs
• Generate technical documentation and present engineering artifacts at design reviews and stakeholder briefings

Qualifications
Qualifications:
• 4 – 6 years of systems engineering experience with a focus on MBSE and architecture modeling
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Proficiency with SysML modeling and architecture tools such as Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or similar
• Experience with requirements capture and traceability using structured engineering methods
• Familiarity with agile development environments and DevSecOps practices is a plus
• Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
