EHS Risk Management and Sustainability Leadership
We are seeking a highly experienced EHS professional to lead our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) risk management and sustainability initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing effective EHS strategies across all operations and projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Risk Management: Implement lean EHS risk management methodologies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with new product/equipment introductions and existing operations.
- Financial Management: Prepare budgets and forecasts, ensure financial discipline, and drive efficiencies to reduce costs.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents and incidents, analyze trends, and implement improvements to prevent similar incidents.
- Emergency Response: Supervise the emergency response team, review emergency response plans, and ensure business continuity plans are optimized.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with governing and regulatory agencies, collect and maintain required documentation, and participate in program audits.
- Sustainability: Advance environmental sustainability efforts by developing strategy, activities, and projects to achieve the company's stated environmental sustainability goals.
- Communication: Provide regular written and oral communication with regulators, agencies, consultants, senior management, and corporate EHS teams.
- Talent Development: Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and required changes.
- Performance Metrics: Manage site performance metrics related to EHS, issue periodic reports for trend analysis, and present conclusions.
- Process Improvement: Revise/create EHS relevant SOPs, evaluate chemicals and materials for PPE requirements, handling, and disposal, and demonstrate strong floor presence.
Requirements:
- Education: BS in Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a technically related degree.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in Health and Safety management, preferably in heavy industrial settings, including metal, foundry, and forging industries.
- Certification: Professional certification (CSP, SMS, or other) in Safety is desirable.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other related regulatory requirements.
