Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to an individual in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for my daughter, ensuring her comfort and well-being in a home health setting. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs. The Personal Care Assistant will also need to be able to intervene when my daughter is having an escalation or tanturm.
Responsibilities
- Assist my daughter with daily living activities including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and grooming.
- Monitor my daughters' health status by observing and reporting any changes in their condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the daughter’s quality of life.
- Administer basic care as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Engage my daughter in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
- Be willing to under go training to keep my daughter and yourself safe in the event of an escalation. Training will be provided by her mom, a family member or a current trained staff member.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health or as a Personal Care Assistant is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is a plus.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist them in mobility tasks as needed.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as required.
