The Meat Department Assistant Plant Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing the production of beef patties for our stores, ensuring that they meet both In-N-Out Burger and U.S.D.A standards. This position is also responsible for coaching a team of supervisors that oversee the production process, receipt of product, plant maintenance and sanitation, overseeing staffing and development, and budget management and development. This role requires leadership experience in the meat industry.
General Responsibilities
- Forecast following week’s production and raw product required based on historical production
- Review production schedule, orders and raw product inventory to plan, make adjustments, coordinate with vendor to ensure there is enough product on hand
- Manage and oversee labor usage assessment and planning, providing guidance to supervisors in scheduling and overtime management
- Oversee the production process, receipt of incoming product, plant maintenance and sanitation
- Meet with supervisors daily to review operations, plan, resolve any production concerns, and communicate relevant information
- Assist with the development of the department budget with the Plant Manager
- Oversee staff training and development, hiring, assessments and resolving concerns
- Strategic plan for the department, summit plan for the year, process improvements
- Plan staffing and hiring needs based on anticipated production to ensure properly staffed to meet needs and allow coverage for vacation, sick time
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Work Schedule Benefits
- Full-time, Exempt
- Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; some overtime as needed
- 5 days per week, rotating schedule and alternating days off
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Travel for visits to In-N-Out Burger different INNO facilities locations, which may include nights weekends.

- Pay Range is $127,000 - $135,000 annually
- The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- 5 years Leadership in Meat Industry/Food Production; Required
- Bachelor’s Degree inBusiness Management, Operations Management, Animal Science or Agriculture; preferred
- Proficient in managing multiple projects concurrently, setting priorities and working cross functionally while consistently delivering on commitments
- Able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities.
- Ability to effectively communicate on complex issues with a high level of effectiveness.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to collaborate with users of all skill levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations; required.
