Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality care to those with varying needs, including individuals with developmental disabilities and those requiring hospice care.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition or behavior to the healthcare team.
- Prepare meals and assist with nutritional needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper medication management.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with mobility assistance, including transferring from bed to wheelchair or other positions.
- Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in hobbies or interests.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or home health environments is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and the ability to recognize changes in health status.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of hospice care practices is beneficial for providing end-of-life support.
- Cooking skills to prepare healthy meals tailored to client preferences and dietary restrictions are desirable.
