Summary
Responsible for scheduling and job performance for the welding taking into consideration cost, quality, and production time restraints.
Responsible for all aspects of welding work including but not limited to managing welding field and shop projects, managing welding field and shop technicians, developing processes, training, work instructions and procedures as well as performing all welding inspections for projects (jobs) either in-house or at customer site.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Daily Core Tasks :
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the following :
- Jobs are completed on-time
- Quality specifications are met
- Costs are controlled and within budget, including but not limited to the following :
- Raw Materials
- Subcontracted Processes
- Direct Labor
- Plan welding production schedules for both shop and field projects.
- Establish and qualify welding processes.
- Review and compare actual vs estimated costs.
- As required, create, and implement process improvement plans where deficiencies are identified.
- Review parts shortages with Purchasing and adjust schedules as necessary.
- As required, be an active participant in quoting jobs.
- As required, act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
Project Management Tasks :
Manage all aspects of welding (jobs), including but not limited to the following :
Properly communicate both internally and externally to ensure all parties are in alignment. Mark up prints to provide clear communication. Utilize tools such as email, spreadsheets, File Maker and Gantt charts.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Education
Experience & Skills :
Ten plus years of progressively responsible related experience. Specifically, this position requires :
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, weld procedure specifications (WPS), production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as basic math, layout functions, fractions, decimals, angles, percentages and ratios.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Team Leader Responsibilities
Carry out team leader responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following :
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. These include : forklift traffic, overhead cranes, machining, welding, fumes, airborne particles, moving of mechanical parts and moderate noise. The work is performed indoors in a shop environment or a customer site both indoors and outdoors. Will spend a minimal amount of time outdoors in hot, cold, or otherwise inclement weather during part of the workweek.

OSHA 30
Valid driver's license, required
Successful completion of IPM Overhead Crane Training, required
Successful completion of IPM's Forklift Training, required
Travel Time - up to 25% (daily, overnight and weekends)
Travel Locations : jobs sites (domestic and international) and company facilities
