The ideal candidate will be located in California, preferable the Northern California area, as the position will often need to be in-office and require travel to clubs across California. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Systems Analyst is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between business objectives and technological solutions. This multifaceted position requires a keen analytical mind to dissect complex business processes, interpret end-user needs and translate them into comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements for technology solutions. This analyst is a crucial intermediary, fostering communication and collaboration among stakeholders, customers, end-users, and technical teams, ensuring alignment of business needs with effective technology solutions.

As the company evolves from an ad-hoc development approach to a more structured and planned methodology, the Business Systems Analyst will become a catalyst for transformative change. This role is instrumental in orchestrating a smooth transition, enabling the organization to achieve its objectives with heightened efficiency and scalability. The analyst’s responsibilities encompass the entire system development lifecycle, from the initial stages of requirement gathering and validation to the management of specifications and hands-on support during project implementation. Beyond these core responsibilities, the Business Systems Analyst also contributes significantly to project management efforts and supporting the IT function, particularly in areas related to business process optimization and technological advancements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements Elicitation and Analysis:

• Lead the requirements elicitation process using a variety of tools and methods to gather input from stakeholders and end users.
• Translate high-level business objectives and user requirements into detailed functional specifications and requirements ensuring quality attributes and alignment with business goals.
• Facilitate requirements review sessions with key stakeholders, facilitating discussion to achieve consensus and approval and ensure requirements are clear, concise, and aligned with strategic initiatives.
• Help define the vision and scope of initiatives by prioritizing activities based on business value, identifying potential impacts, developing risk mitigation strategies, and documenting clear processes, policies, and procedures.

Process Improvement and Solution Design:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of complex business requirements, collaborating cross-functionally to design technical specifications that support organizational objectives.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process and system improvements, providing strategic direction to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform comprehensive research and impact analysis on proposed changes, recommending actionable solutions to key decision-makers.

Project Management and Stakeholder Communication:

• Develop and execute communication strategies throughout project lifecycles, utilizing appropriate channels and frequencies to keep stakeholders informed.
• Provide project management support, ensuring successful delivery of technology initiatives through effective planning, execution and monitoring.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to prioritize and manage requirements, ensuring alignment with project deliverables and overall business objectives.
• Lead group sessions for problem-solving, initiative planning, and proposal development, fostering collaboration and driving consensus.

Technology Implementation and Support:

• Spearhead the configuration and implementation of technology solutions, including data gathering, system configuration, and testing to meet business objectives.
• Deliver hands-on, multi-channel support for business processes and technology solutions, ensuring seamless adoption and user satisfaction. 
• Collaborate with and manage vendor relationships as needed to implement or support solutions.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in information technology, business systems analysis, or technical project management.
• Strong interpersonal and clear communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with business stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to provide support both in office or at club locations throughout California is required. (Must have a clean DMV record and a valid Driver’s License.)
• Ability to critically evaluate stakeholder input, ask thought-provoking questions, and challenge assumptions to ensure clarity, alignment, and the best possible outcomes.
• Exceptional ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and effective solutions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic work environment, capable of multitasking and switching priorities as needed.
• Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables, yet remain flexible to changing circumstances
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail, enabling the identification of opportunities for improvement and innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in creating clear and concise documentation, including business requirements, use cases, and technical specifications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining focus on project goals and deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for extended periods of time. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
