General Description
In-Situ® Inc. is a leading manufacturer of innovative water monitoring equipment that includes multiparameter water quality sondes, water level and flow instruments, wastewater probes and automated chemistry analyzers, all enabled by an industry-leading telemetry and data platform. Our systems are used for environmental monitoring, as well as drinking water and wastewater process monitoring and control. Assistant Product Managers (APMs) build their tactical and commercial skills by assuming responsibility for a more limited scope of products than Product Managers, and by driving opportunities that are identified by Product Managers, Commercial Development Managers and other business leaders.
Position Summary
In-Situ’s Assistant Product Manager of Indirect Channels [will enable fast-growing areas of our business: original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Service, Rentals and indirect selling partners. Leaders of these business areas require tactical product management support that is embedded in our primary facility in Fort Collins, CO, but which also assists our global sales teams with price book delivery and channel management. Working alongside these leaders, the Assistant Product Manager will experience unique avenues for professional development and career growth!
Responsibilities:
The APM of Indirect Channels will have the following responsibilities at a minimum:
- Working closely with the Commercial Development Managers, Product Managers and the VP of Marketing.
- Assist with the development of business cases for product development, which help the organization prioritize projects for investment,
- Log the requirements that will be used by engineers for product development,
- Serve as the product manager in the stage-gate process, aided closely by the CDM, Product Managers and VP of Marketing,
- Deliver list prices for OEM, service and rental offerings,
- Facilitate delivery of price books to indirect sales channels,
- Manage the life cycle of OEM products through component changes, shortages and end of life.
- Support Marketing and Communications for content development related to indirect business channels.
- Support the assessment of trends and competition in these indirect business channels.
- Help manage Voice-of-the-Customer studies, especially during the analysis and reporting stages.
- Assist business leaders as they build pricing strategies, price books and analyses of margins indirect selling channels.
- Provide after-market support of OEM partners, as a liaison to engineering, technical support and Quality teams. This includes
- Drafting and prioritizing engineering change requests (ECRs),
- Coordination of internal resources and tracking progress when client support requires multiple parties for resolution.
- Assist with delivery of PPAP, FAT, Certificates of Analysis and other types of documentation that are required by our OEM business partners when they validate us as a supplier.
- Help the Commercial Development Managers with the development and delivery of training for partners, technical support, production engineering and sales teams.
- Serve as the commercial liaison between Commercial Development Managers and Operations for forecasting, demand planning, and order prioritization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, engineering, chemistry, or other technical discipline.
- Some water industry domain experience, especially with the use of instrumentation.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Passion for innovation and customer-centric thinking.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
- General office environment with each day spent at a desk or meeting with cross-functional teams.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and walk.
- On-site, in-person.
- Travel – up to 25% of the time.
Total Rewards:
Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data and internal comps.
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
Additional Compensation: Compensation will also include an annual bonus plan that is based on company performance, product performance, and individual KPIs.
