The Early Intervention Assistant (EIA) position at In STEPPS is an opportunity to accelerate developmental trajectories for young children. As an Early Intervention Assistant or EIA you will work either one-on-one or in small groups with children with developmental delays or disabilities. Additional one-on-one sessions may be added in the child’s home or (pre)school. You will help small children develop the skills necessary to succeed in their homes, schools, and communities through our fun and playful intervention model. We teach using natural routines and play and provide ongoing parent support and education. This is an advanced position that requires experience working with children between 12 months and 36 months of age.

So here is the offer… a rewarding career helping kids meet their potential! As a behavior therapist you work with children and families in clinic, home and community settings. You use play and daily routines to teach children with developmental disabilities a variety of skills. Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) we strive to create a world without limits.
Responsibilities of the Early Intervention Assistant:
- Work 1:1 and in small group with clients using ABA and PRT Strategies
- Complete data collection, in-service notes and procedures as outlined by Supervisors
- Participate in all trainings, evaluations and team meetings
- Communicate frequently and effectively with team members
- Bring required materials as needed (toys, iPad, etc. provided by In STEPPS)
- Follow schedule as determined by administrative staff and supervisors.
- Comply with all reporting requirements of the company, including all administrative, payroll submissions, billing information, etc., on a timely basis.
Requirements:
- AA degree plus California College Early Intervention Assistant Certificate or similar certificate
- AA degree in Child Development or related field plus Equivalent of associate teacher California Child Development Permit (12 units) plus coursework to meet EIA competencies, including supervised fieldwork in early intervention,
- AA in child development or early childhood education (preschool teacher cert)
- BA or higher in education, special education, child development, adolescent and child psychology, or other related field
- BA in psychology w experience-2 years for psych BA only
