Role Overview: The RF Engineer will play a key role in supporting the engineering design team through various stages of product development, including testing, documentation, research, installation, troubleshooting, and system analysis. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful problem-solver who thrives in a team-oriented environment and enjoys tackling technical challenges with creative solutions. This position involves close collaboration with senior engineers to ensure timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and interpret system specifications to meet product requirements.
- Assist in the development of system designs, installation plans, and testing strategies.
- Design and evaluate systems and subsystems to enhance performance, introduce new features, and optimize cost and size.
- Work closely with clients, internal teams, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle, from drafting requirements to system integration.
- Provide technical support for the assembly and troubleshooting of wireless communication prototypes and products.
- Acquire knowledge of underground mining processes to improve client communications.
- Conduct RF measurements and testing within the facility.
- Participate in the R&D, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for various applications.
- Support proposal efforts and perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in RF/Data Communications or Field Telecommunications is highly desirable, including familiarity with wireless site deployments and technical components.
- Strong understanding of RF system configurations and testing, including RF theory, antenna design, link budgets, RF measurement techniques, and simulations.
- Proficiency in technical planning and hands-on testing of RF and digital systems.
- Experience using CAD software for RF equipment layouts and coverage models.
- Ability to conduct technical training sessions and product briefings for customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with databases and networking (e.g., MySQL, TCP/IP, Windows 10/11) is a plus.
- Knowledge of PCB troubleshooting and the ability to read schematic and PCB layout designs is advantageous.
