Job Overview:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth. This role involves prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for the sales team. The ideal candidate is a proactive, goal-oriented individual with a passion for sales and business development.
This position has a salary that will be commensurate with experience with On Target Earnings, providing an annual salary of up to $65k - $75k.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: Identify and research potential business opportunities through various channels such as market research, networking, and lead generation tools.
- Prospecting: Reach out to prospective clients via phone, email, and social media to introduce our products and services and generate interest.
- Qualification: Assess and qualify leads based on their needs, budget, and alignment with our offerings. Use CRM software to track and manage lead information.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers to foster new business opportunities.
- Meeting Scheduling: Arrange meetings, demos, and calls between prospective clients and the sales team to further discuss their needs and our solutions.
- Market Insights: Gather and provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to help refine sales strategies and tactics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment on messaging, strategy, and lead nurturing efforts.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of lead interactions, pipeline status, and sales activities. Provide regular reports on lead generation metrics and progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence prospects.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and the ability to identify and qualify potential business opportunities.
- Proficiency in using research tools and techniques to identify potential leads and gather information.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a drive to achieve and exceed targets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated resilience and the ability to handle rejection and setbacks constructively.
- Collaborative attitude and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar office productivity tools.
- Basic understanding of sales and marketing software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- 1-2 years of experience in a sales, marketing, or customer service role, with a demonstrated ability to generate and manage leads.
- Previous experience in a Business Development Representative (BDR) or similar role is a plus.
- Experience in telecom, MSP, security industry
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and the ability to manage and track leads effectively.
