Fiber Splicer

In the Stix Broadband, LLC is dedicated to providing reliable, high-speed internet to our customers. We are seeking a Fiber Splicer to join our team and support our mission of delivering top-tier broadband services.

Job Overview

As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for installing splicing enclosures and fusing fiber optic cabling. You will work with a team to ensure the efficiency and reliability of our fiber network while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Splice fiber optic cables using mechanical or fusion splicers
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic issues
• Perform fiber optic tests (OTDRs, power meters, light sources, VFLs)
• Document testing, installations, and maintenance
• Assist with network layout, installation, and testing
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Perform scheduled maintenance and provide 24/7 emergency response support
• Assist with new deployments and upgrades as needed

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required
Experience: 1-3 years of fiber splicing experience preferred, but not required
Skills & Requirements:

• Ability to identify and distinguish all colors
• Strong manual dexterity for handling small fiber optic strands
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in various physical conditions
• Valid driver’s license required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
