Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and kinesiology and a commitment to providing exceptional client care. This role involves working closely with clients to assess their needs and deliver tailored therapeutic treatments that promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall wellness.


The position is for a part time massage therapist for a start-up business in a medical massage clinic. This employment position is designed to be part time with potential to transition to full time as the company grows. Therapist will work limited hours in early evenings -OR- early mornings and a half day on Saturday. Pay rate increases are available.


Responsibilities

Therapist will be trained in and provide Neuromuscular Therapy and Structural Integration for pain management. Therapist will greet clients, review intake forms, symptoms, and health history. They will be trained to observe holding and posture patterns. They will accurately assess source of pain and dysfunction and will either treat or refer to medical professional. They will offer add-on services if/when they deem appropriate for client treatment. Therapist will also provide post treatment advice, including stretches and simple corrective exercises, which they will also be trained in.


*Clients will be screened before coming to you and assistance will be available to help navigate any unfamiliar situations/conditions and apply effective treatment.


This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge on anatomy, physiology, and pathology and grow your expertise in the healthcare side of massage therapy. We work with people from all walks of life- from professional and recreational athletes to people with disabilities, injuries, and accidents looking to manage or prevent their pain. You will receive unique opportunities to learn in depth how the different systems of the body work to impact pain and learn how to treat the body as whole by utilizing your knowledge and the expertise of other healthcare professionals in our network. You will not be pressured to act as a salesperson or obtain long term regulars. You are here to provide effective pain relief and only recommend add-ons and long-term care for clients who need and are seeking such.



Other things to know

-Training is required and will be at a different pay rate. Training times are flexible and will be made around your schedule. Amount of training will be dependent on therapist's skill level.

-The company is involved in local events for networking. Therapists may volunteer and will be compensated at a different pay rate.

-Paid CEUs available with terms.

-Benefits are not currently available as this is a new company, but benefits will be added on as the company grows.

-No restrictions on time off.

-PTO available after 1 year

-Massage trade available between employees.


Qualifications

Required:

-Valid massage license through TDLR

-Liability Insurance

-3-5 years' experience in massage therapy, preferably in clinical settings

-Thorough understanding of anatomy, kinesiology and physiology.

-Comprehensive knowledge of trigger point pain patterns -OR- Experience in pain management or medical massage settings, ex. chiropractic offices, pain management facilities, hospitals.


Preferred, not Required:

-Certification in medical/therapeutic massage techniques: neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, medical massage, Rolfing, etc...

-Basic knowledge in nutrition, sleep health, mental health, exercise science, etc... (only enough to make basic recommendations or to recognize when a referral out is needed, we do not treat disorders or deficiencies in these areas)
