Job Summary :
Seeking a Senior Cisco Network Architect (CCIE) to design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures for a state IT department. The role involves ensuring secure, high-performance networking using Cisco technologies, compliance with government standards, and collaboration with IT teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Network Architecture : Design scalable and secure enterprise networks using Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Routing & Switching : Implement OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and Layer 2 / 3 switching technologies (STP, VLANs, VXLAN).
- Wireless Networking : Deploy Cisco Meraki / Catalyst WLAN solutions, ensuring high security and optimal coverage.
- Security & Compliance : Implement firewalls, VPNs, IPS, and meet NIST / FISMA / HIPAA compliance standards.
- Performance & Troubleshooting : Use tools like Cisco Prime, SolarWinds for monitoring, optimization, and issue resolution.
- Collaboration & Leadership : Work with IT teams, vendors, and mentor junior engineers.
- Documentation & Reporting : Maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and generate performance / security reports.
- Disaster Recovery : Implement redundancy (HSRP, VRRP) and business continuity strategies.
- Emerging Technologies : Research and integrate new solutions (e.g., SDN, 5G, IoT).
