SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedule, supervise, and direct the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various types of telecommunications equipment and circuits. Assist in training subordinate personnel. Interface with central office (CO) personnel, contractors, and various internal workgroups to include but not limited to facilities, construction, and RAN engineering.

- Schedule and manage personnel workload for supporting the wireless and fiber networks
- Supervise and assist with the installation of new Ethernet services and associated network equipment supplying those services over fiber plant transport
- Possess knowledge to safely operate in and around AC/DC power systems
- Assist field technicians with training, testing, and maintaining Ethernet, SONET/DWDM, MPLS, and 4G/5G wireless technologies.
- Proficient with fiber testing equipment and standards to include Y.1564 (EtherSam) testing protocol, OTDR traces, and power meter usage
- Provide assistance to outside plant team as needed to find fiber cut locations to minimize outage time
- Maintain vehicle, supplies, and test equipment provided by the company in clean and operational condition.
- Properly manage deployment and spare inventory through cycle counts and issuances and hold team members accountable for the same using company policies and procedures
- Be available via phone 24/7 for emergencies and on-call as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent required, 2-year associates degree in telecommunications or equivalent field preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience installing and maintaining fiber optics and/or telecommunications equipment in the telecom industry required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing personnel resources preferred
- Experience with OSI Layer 1, Nokia IP networks, and/or 4G/5G wireless network topology required
- Experience with OSI Layer 2 and MPLS architecture preferred
- Experience with Nokia Netact and Nokia NSP element management platforms preferred
- Experience with GPON networks and Adtran TA5000/5004 preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to work cross-functionally on technical projects and complex problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills required and must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Nokia routers: 7705, 7250, 7210, 7750, 7450.
