Job Title : Facilities Engineer - Junior
Client : USGS Geologic Hazards Science Center (GHSC)
Location : Hybrid - Golden, CO (Onsite versus Remote TBD around 3 onsite - 2 remote)
Travel : None
Citizenship : US or Green Card / Permanent Resident - must pass a Background Investigation
Education : Bachelor's degree in mechanical and / or electrical engineering
Experience : 5 years
Technical Requirements :
- General understanding of building systems in disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, instrumentation and controls, or building envelope systems.
- Understanding of applicable design codes, design standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
- Experience with computer operation including the ability to use common office (for example, Microsoft Office) and specialized software applications (i.e., computer-aided design / CAD).
- Ability and skills to perform methodical tasks is required.
- Professional knowledge of and familiarity with facilities engineering and maintenance.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam software is preferred.
General Duties / Tasks :
Support the day-to-day physical operation and maintenance of the existing USGS magnetic observatory network (14 in total).
