Inca Presswood Sardis is a manufacturer of Engineered Molded Wood™ pallets, core plugs, and extruded wood blocks, along with other engineered wood products located in Sardis, MS.
We are currently looking for a qualified Purchasing Agent working full time with competitive pay, and excellent benefits including 401k and paid vacation.
Position Summary
The Purchasing Agent works to maintain production and quality by ensuring the operation of purchasing materials for the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Daily:
- Daily retrieving and reviewing the Spare Parts Checkout Sheet from Storeroom.
- Physical Inventory of Plant Supplies and Tank Levels of Resin, Wax, Diesel Fuel.
- Check in of Resin and Wax Deliveries
- Reviewing submitted requisitions from the Plant Manager, Production Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
- Purchase Order Generation and Ordering of spare part items and plant supplies from submitted requisitions, daily “Spare Parts Checkout Sheet”, the supply cabinet inventory counts and the tank level inventory sheets.
- Pickup of spare parts and plant supplies from local vendors or machine shops.
- Check-In of incoming spare parts and plant supplies including labeling and shelving in the Parts Room.
- Receiving in MVP of incoming spare parts and plant supplies.
- Match Invoices with Receivers and closing out Purchase Orders in MVP.
- Labeling Invoices with the proper Account Code on Signature Block.
- Enter Vendor Number on Invoice Front if not already on the Invoice.
- Generating weekly spending reports of Invoiced (INV), Ordered Not Received (ONR) and Received Not Invoiced (RNI) items from MVP in certain account codes.
- Generating Daily Resin & Wax usage analysis sheet.
- Purchase Order Generation and Ordering of Resin and Wax Supplies.
- Purchase Order Generation and scheduling Maintenance related rented equipment from given Requisitions.
- Purchase Order Generation and ordering of Packaging Supplies.
- Maintaining the Parts Room in neat order.
- Generating PM and DM and Safety work orders. This includes attaching the required technical information, i.e. drawings, specifications, procedures to the work orders before issuing.
- Confirming that required parts are available for the work orders issued. If parts are not on hand, the parts must be requisitioned to purchasing.
- Closing out completed maintenance PM and DM work orders.
- Researching and specifying spare parts.
- Communicating with the Maintenance Supervisor on upcoming work orders and projects.
- Monitoring and Implementing Environmental Management System Work Orders.
- Review of Daily Maintenance Work Log and entering required DM Work Orders.
- Research, download, print manuals for certain equipment
Monthly:
- End of Month (EOM) inventory of Packaging Supplies.
- EOM inventory of Resin, Wax, Hardener Bags & Muzin Oil.
- Cost Verification of MVP & Real World Spending of specified Account Codes.
- Update Preventive Maintenance Work Order Schedule and Completion Chart.
- Review and reporting of OSHA and EPA reports.
Yearly:
- Confirm and adjust Spare Parts Stock Locations prior to EOY Inventory.
- Organize and Print EOY Spare Parts Inventory Counting Sheets.
- Organize and Supervise Spare Parts Counting Teams.
- Enter Inventory Count Adjustments
- Prepare and Analyze Spare Parts Inventory Summary.
- Prepare and Analyze EOY Spare Parts Inventory Yearly Comparatives.
- Verify and investigate Spare Part irregularities.
- Print final Spare Parts Inventory Sheet for Plant Managers Approval.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)· High School Diploma required· 2-3 years experience with purchasing· Must have flexible schedule· Must be able to perform the physical activities necessary in an active work environment such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials· Lift 2-40 lbs. with some position requiring capability of lifting 50lbs.· Able to stand in a fast-paced environment with typical 8-hour shifts and occasional overtime as needed· Ability to work any shift and/or shift pattern including limited weekends· Willing to learn from well-trained coaches with your safety & development, their number one priority· Be a part of a high producing team that investigate and solves problems with the help of their mentors and coachesKey Competencies:· Organization· Dependability· Ability to understand both verbal and written directions· Ability to adhere to strict safety, quality and production standards· Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy· Ability to multi-task and prioritize· High level of discretion and judgment· Strong math skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
