CAD Designer

Compensation: $38-45/hr

Location: Akron, OH

Position: CAD Designer

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled CAD Designer to join their team!

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop substation layouts, including section cuts, physical details, ground grid design, and lightning protection.
• Utilize CAD software to create and refine electrical design drawings while maintaining accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Review and approve design specifications, manufacturer prints, and project documentation for quality assurance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members while supporting client meetings and marketing initiatives as needed.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 4 years of experience in electrical drafting or related field
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel for design deliverables.
• Experience with both 2D and 3D applications for engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of design calculations, system components, and electrical design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to resolve design challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  
  

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience in construction, particularly in foundation, steel design, heavy machinery, or outdoor construction design.
• Background in above-grade and below-grade design.
• Familiarity with diverse software applications for electrical design.
