Responsibilities:
- Handle insurance claims processing, denials, and reimbursement analysis to ensure accurate and timely payment.
- Manage claim status inquiries and resolve outstanding billing issues with insurance providers and patients.
- Take approximately 30-40 calls daily from patients and over 40 calls from insurance providers.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits through various channels, including online portals and direct communication with insurance companies.
- Submit and manage claims with insurance carriers, ensuring compliance with current billing requirements.
- Reconcile patient accounts, track outstanding balances, and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and internal teams to address billing concerns.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and other operational discussions to enhance efficiency.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, medical collections, or medical billing systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO/PPOs, and traditional insurance plans.
- Ability to manage a high call volume while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience reading and interpreting Explanations of Benefits (EOBs).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
