The Production Manager will provide leadership and tactical oversight to production and facilities teams, focusing on performance, throughput, and alignment with company goals in safety, quality, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across key manufacturing areas, ensuring schedule adherence, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Drive operational process improvements to support business goals with the emphasis on safety, quality, on time delivery, inventory, and productivity.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to all employees.
- Drive a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement, setting clear expectations and following through on performance.
- Supervise daily Gemba walks to reinforce standards, identify barriers to flow, and implement corrective actions in real time.
- Facilitate and participate in lean activities such as Kaizen events, visual management, and root cause problem solving.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality) to ensure alignment on production priorities and resolve constraints.
- Use data and KPIs to track performance, identify improvement opportunities, and manage resources to meet operational goals.
- Mentor and develop team members to build leadership strength on the floor and improve team engagement and skillsets.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop or revise processes and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence.
- Responsible for determining the need for labor, space, materials and capital equipment and provide cost analysis and justification.
- Establishes and maintains a high level of business and personal ethics following company standard operating procedures and ensures everyone operates in a similar manner.
- Maintain professional and effective communication to all levels, stimulating initiatives, innovations, and motivation for continuous improvements.
- Communicate with Plant Manager on setting goals, objectives, and reporting of area metrics to track progress and improvement.
- Ensures production schedule is upheld and issues are escalated in a timely manner.
- Minimum 3 years of production management experience in a Lean Manufacturing Environment - procurement, inventory management, or operations, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated positive results with Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / continuous improvement skills.
- Superior leadership skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills and demonstrated ability to interface at all levels of the company.
- Demonstrated success in developing high performing team.
