Job Summary:
Regents’ Glen Country Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Event Captain to oversee and execute high-quality events at our premier golf course. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with exceptional hospitality skills and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings. The Banquet Event Captain ensures seamless event operations, from setup to breakdown, while providing top-tier service to members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the banquet team in the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, including weddings, tournaments, corporate gatherings, and private parties.
- Ensure events run smoothly by managing staff assignments, monitoring timelines, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Provide hands-on assistance in food and beverage service, ensuring high-quality guest experiences.
- Work closely with event planners, kitchen staff, and management to execute event details according to client specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing event space, both indoors and outdoors.
- Train and mentor banquet servers to uphold service standards and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with inventory control of banquet supplies and equipment.
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve any guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in banquet/event operations, preferably in a golf course, country club, or upscale hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments, including exposure to various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to last-minute changes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards; ServSafe or TIPS certification is a plus.
