Job Title: Shop Mechanic
Job Summary:
Inch&Co Outdoor is seeking a skilled and reliable Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair landscaping and construction equipment, as well as company fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, including trucks, trailers, skid steers, excavators, mowers, and small engines. This role ensures all company assets are operating efficiently and safely to support daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on landscaping and construction equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company fleet vehicles (trucks, trailers, etc.) to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and other general vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Service small engines, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other landscaping tools.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed for equipment repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for repairs.
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles comply with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
- Provide emergency roadside assistance for fleet vehicles when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of landscaping/construction equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
- Must own basic hand tools; company may provide specialized tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
