About This Opportunity:
InComm is looking for a BI Operations Manager to join our team efforts in maintaining data quality, managing automated reporting pipelines, and optimizing BI service delivery. This role is ideal for a results-driven individual with a strong operational mindset who is passionate about streamlining support processes, mentoring technical teams, and ensuring consistent, reliable access to critical data.
Responsibilities:
The BI Operations Manager will bring a strong operations-focused mindset, balancing customer service excellence, team leadership, and technical proficiency. This individual will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality, consistent support across BI platforms and services.
This role requires a proactive approach to identifying, analyzing, and improving business processes, with a particular focus on root cause analysis of recurring issues, and effective cross-team communication. The manager will implement and manage performance metrics that align with operational goals and will lead efforts to optimize workflows, reduce ticket volumes, and promote knowledge sharing.
The manager will provide hands-on mentoring across technical and soft skills, encourage operational ownership among team members, and serve as the bridge between technical execution and stakeholder satisfaction. He/She will collaborate with internal teams and partner groups to ensure BI operational processes are well-defined, effectively communicated, and continuously evolving to meet business needs.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Good understanding of data movement throughout our various environments, to ensure recurring issues are reported on a timely basis to responsible teams
- Interpreting technology needs through conversations with stakeholders
- Promoting a self-service model where appropriate, empowering business users with reporting and visualization tools and understanding the impact this will have on service requests
- Applying structured problem-solving techniques to analyze and address systemic issues, identifying trends and opportunities for automation or operational improvement.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to translate technology and reporting needs into actionable tasks and support strategies.
- Establishing and maintaining team schedules to ensure adequate coverage, including peak support hours and after-hours coverage as required.
- Championing the creation and maintenance of internal documentation and a centralized BI Operations knowledge base to improve issue resolution times and team onboarding.
- Driving team accountability by regularly reviewing performance metrics and working with analysts to refine processes and improve service delivery.
- 2 years of experience managing technical BI teams, with a demonstrated focus on operational excellence and process optimization.
- Proficient in SQL and relational database concepts; experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, MicroStrategy, Cognos, OBIEE, or the Microsoft BI stack is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with a customer-first attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
