Responsibilities
- Provide database design, development, and support to SQL Server and Oracle database applications
- Design database objects such as tables and stored procedures based on business requirements
- Create / maintain complex stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, and objects
- Implement data archival strategy for transaction processing systems
- Review and approve of database changes involving tables, stored procedures, SQL agent jobs, etc.
- Conduct performance evaluation and tuning of long running queries
- Knowledge of best practices and development standards
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GI
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
- 5 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
- Experience reviewing / auditing large number of database objects (procedures, tables, functions and views) and dependencies
- Strong database performance tuning knowledge
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to change priorities quickly and capacity to handle multiple tasks
