What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Assembler position at InCompass?
Summary/Objective
The Electrical Assembler constructs electronic components, subassemblies, products, and software/hardware systems for machines.
Essential Functions
- Completely assemble all electrical components on machines/enclosure panels. Makes wires and wire labels according to the wiring schematic for the machine.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Assists in the testing, inspection, and quality review of finished machines to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
- Debug the electrical functions of the machine and test per the sequence of operation.
- Collaborates with engineers and production personnel to resolve electrical assembly problems.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety regulations.

Work Environment

Physical Demands
- Standing on a cement floor for 8 hours a day.
- Occasionally moves/lifts items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently positions self to kneel, crouch, or stoop to work on machines.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
- Constantly uses basic tools and hands/fingers to handle and adjust controls on machines.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
Required Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- Must be able to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
Preferred Education & Experience
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2-year vocational certification.
