Job Summary
An Operating Room/Surgical Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to surgical patients before, during, and after surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of surgical settings and excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families. As an Operating Room/Surgical Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct patient care to surgical patients before, during, and after surgery in accordance with AORN standards
- Maintaining an aseptic and safe environment in the Operating Room
- Assisting in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing nursing and technical duties as assigned
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and other physiological parameters during surgery
- Communicating with patients and their families about the surgical procedure and postoperative care

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in nursing (ADN or higher)
- An active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
- At least one year of experience in an operating room (OR) or surgical setting (preferred)
- ACLS and PALS certification (preferred)
