Our Cytotechnologists are responsible for accurate screening, diagnosis, and reporting of cytologic specimens and examining cells for study to detect abnormalities early diagnosis of cancer and other diseases.
Schedule: Day hours / Monday - Friday
Per Diem - if available for a per diem status then please notify this on the application questionnaire
Note: Resume or application must reflect experience, education, as prescribed in the job description, as we may hire at level I or II. Commensurate experience/education: $33.47 - 53.38 USD Hourly
You will Perform:
Level I
- Perform microscopic screening to accurately diagnose gynecological and non-gynecological specimens.
- Comply with CAP requirements and State & Federal Regulations including Quality Assurance programs: represent the department during inspection.
- Actively participate in continuing education programs: participate in staff training and competency assessments.
- Enter case information into a computer system accurately and forward to proper locations.
- Support good turnaround time by working productively and efficiently.
- Support department and corporate culture of professionalism, teamwork, and inclusiveness.
- Authors and revises 1-2 standard operating procedures as assigned.
- Maintain current knowledge of departmental SOPs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Level II (perform responsibilities of Level I, plus)
- Assist with compiling data for annual QA activities.
- Perform GYN Quality Control
- Participate in process improvement activities and project implementation
- Schedule, assist, and facilitate proficiency testing.
- Support department and corporate culture of professionalism, teamwork, and inclusiveness.
- Participates in staff training and competency assessments.
- Serve as a second opinion or expert opinion for difficult areas.
- Authors and revise 5-10 standard operating procedures as assigned: maintain current knowledge of departmental SOPs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Level I
- Clinical education through an accredited cytotechnologist program
- Meet CLIA requirements as a Cytotechnologist and post ASCP CT certification with current maintenance
- Minimum 2 years’ laboratory experience: prefer cytology experience
- Imaging system certification preferred.
Level II
- Possess active/current CT certification
- 3 years’ laboratory experience as a Cytotechnologist
- Imaging system certification

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and prioritize tasks
- Effective communication skills (both written & verbal) and comfortable communicating with medical professions and team members
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrate ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
