What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Assistant I, Spokane Valley (PT & evening shift) position at INCYTE PATHOLOGY PS?
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for entering patient and specimen information into computer system and will prepare laboratory specimens for designated locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing, there may be travel to other labs to provide coverage.
You Will:
• Ability to perform support functions in the laboratory
• Assess and accession laboratory specimens
• Data entry and scan requisition images
• Assist / Perform send-outs
• Provide support services for other departments, clients, and pathologists
• Quality control data entry
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including cross training in other shifts or department
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Competency with computers and MS Office programs
• Laboratory experience/accessioning along with medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing
• Excellent organizational skills & attention to details
• Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards
• Willingness to be cross trained in other departments, as a Lab. Asst.
