Our northwest suburban group of companies seeks a highly self-motivated individual with an interest in supporting a diverse array of corporate activities, assisting our Corporate VP/CFO and Controller. This role encompasses customer contract legal language reviews in collaboration with the VP/CFO and sales teams, contributing to new customer order closures. Additionally, responsibilities include reviewing and tracking other types of contracts and legal document reviews & administration, general corporate legal compliance, litigation support, special projects, and administrative duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This role encompasses customer contract legal language reviews in collaboration with the VP/CFO and sales teams, contributing to new customer order closures. Additionally, responsibilities include reviewing and tracking other types of contracts and legal document reviews & administration, general corporate legal compliance, litigation support, special projects, and administrative duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Review, draft, edit, and redline contracts and other legal documents; participate in contract negotiations.
- Track and support litigation efforts internally and with external counsel.
- Engage outside counsel for complex customer collections.
- Manage business insurance responsibilities, including claim filings and COI reviews.
- Maintain corporate business filings for various entities.
- Independently manage assigned projects, including research, analysis, engaging third-party services, compiling data, developing reports, and gathering supporting documents.
- Support the Corporate VP/CFO and Controller.
- Review and analyze legal bills.
- Maintain a follow-up calendar for legal and other corporate matters.
- Maintain Corporate Record Books.
- Organize and maintain legal files.
- Perform additional projects or duties as assigned, some related to finance and accounting.
- Extremely detail-oriented to effectively work with contract language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong follow-up abilities.
- Strong prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working well in a team setting.
- Competent in handling confidential information and records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.
- Four or more years of related experience.
