Location: Ridgeway, VA (onsite)

Overview:
We are looking for a Controller to lead and manage key accounting functions, including financial reporting, cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, inventory reconciliation, fixed asset tracking, and general ledger oversight. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy, optimizing cost controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring seamless management of financial transactions, including:
- Month-end and year-end closing processes
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Cash receipts and bank reconciliations
- Treasury management and budgeting
- Revenue and expense variance analysis
- Fixed asset and inventory reconciliation
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the organization maintains strong financial health and adequate liquidity for operations.
- Implement cost-control initiatives, identifying areas for efficiency improvements while maintaining operational quality and service standards.
- Establish, enforce, and continuously refine financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Enhance financial systems and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve processes and ensure efficient, accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and mentor the accounting team, setting clear goals, providing training, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
- Maintain organized and detailed fiscal records, ensuring financial data integrity and accessibility for reporting and decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
- Strong expertise in GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and areas for financial improvement.
- Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, capable of working across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial management systems.
