Key Responsibilities
Credit Analysis
- Review new credit applications and supporting documentation to assess customer creditworthiness based on financial statements, credit reports, and payment history.
- Assign appropriate credit limits to new and existing customers based on risk assessment.
- Monitor customer account activity, including payment patterns and outstanding balances, to identify potential credit issues.
- Contact customers with overdue accounts to initiate collections efforts, including phone calls, emails, and letters.
- Work with the collections team to resolve outstanding debt and minimize bad debt losses.
- Negotiate payment plans with customers experiencing financial difficulties.
- Generate regular reports on credit metrics such as aging receivables, bad debt percentages, and credit utilization.
- Analyze credit data to identify trends and potential areas of risk.
- Prepare presentations for management regarding credit performance and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to company credit policies and procedures when evaluating credit applications and managing customer accounts.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and credit reporting guidelines.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding credit terms and account status.
- Collaborate with sales teams to address credit concerns and facilitate new customer onboarding.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial statement analysis and credit reporting
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage customer interactions during collections
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting
