Field Safety Technician

Site Field HSE Technician Job Description

Location: Morenci, Arizona

Minimum Requirements: 3-5 Years HSE Experience in Heavy Industrial Construction
MSHA Experience Preferred

This position is a “boots on the ground” 100% in the field HSE position and reports directly to site Project Manager and offsite HSE Director.

• This position involves working closely with craft, supervisors, and site management to identify, evaluate, and eliminate field safety hazards.
• Inspect facilities, equipment, and operations to identify and immediately correct potential safety hazards.
• Providing site safety orientation and training for new employees and ongoing training for existing employees as required.
• Regularly monitoring and maintaining safety devices and protective equipment, as well as ensuring their proper use by craft.
• Monitoring craft working at heights to ensure proper wearing of fall protection equipment, proper body positioning, and proper access to work location.
• Monitoring rigging and crane use to ensure proper technique and equipment use.
• Monitoring PPE use of all employees to ensure proper use and adherence to company requirements.
• Auditing JSAs and permits of each crew and provide coaching and direction for non-compliance.
• Provide feedback and coaching for construction best practices and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Immediately stop unsafe work or conditions and provide direction as to how to correct the behavior or condition.
• Provide 100% enforcement of our InDemand Cardinal Rules – the company’s zero tolerance items.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $37.00 - $41.00 per hour

Expected hours: 60 per week

Experience:

• Health, Safety, and Environmental field: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Certified Safety Professional (Preferred)
• OSHA 30 (Required)
• MSHA Certification (Preferred)
