Position Summary
Independence Care of Arkansas seeks a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to oversee medical services for our transitional housing program at Killingsworth Mobile Home Park. This program supports 60 Medicaid-eligible adults by providing integrated housing, medical care, and supportive services to promote independence and community reintegration. The Medical Director ensures all medical services comply with state and federal regulations, emphasizing high-quality care and resident well-being.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Oversight and Compliance
- Supervise all medical services, including primary care, medication management, and chronic disease management, ensuring they meet CSSP and Intensive CSSP Agency standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with Arkansas Medical Board, Nurse Practice Act, and Consumer Directed Care Act regulations.
- Oversee medical services for diverse resident needs, including mental health, developmental disabilities, and chronic conditions.
Resident Care
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with residents and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure safe and effective medication management practices, including adherence to guidelines for antipsychotic or stimulant medications.
- Provide on-call medical coverage or ensure access to emergency care 24/7 for residents.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals, social workers, and employment specialists to deliver holistic care.
- Partner with external agencies, including PASSE, Medicaid, and local healthcare providers, to coordinate services.
- Facilitate regular training sessions for staff on best practices, compliance, and medical protocols.
Program Development and Community Health
- Guide the medical components of program implementation, ensuring integration with transitional housing initiatives.
- Support the development of wellness initiatives, preventative health programs, and emergency preparedness plans.
- Address medical-related challenges unique to the mobile home park environment, including utility disruptions and severe weather planning.
QualificationsLicensure and Experience
- Licensed physician in good standing with the Arkansas Medical Board.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in community-based healthcare, transitional housing, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, CSSP, and Arkansas-specific healthcare regulations is essential.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Ability to analyze clinical data to drive quality improvement initiatives.
Leadership and Communication
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging with residents, staff, and external partners.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
