Summary: 
 
This position is a 12-month position and will primarily provide coaching functions and duties to student athletes.An Offensive Coordinator in football is responsible for developing and executing the team's offensive game plan, including play calling during games, overseeing all offensive position coaches, analyzing opponent defenses, and making strategic adjustments to maximize scoring potential, essentially leading the offensive side of the team under the direction of the head coach. 

An individual in this position is expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned.   
 
Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse student population.
Ability to perform work beyond a standard 40-hour work week when workload requires.

Either a copy of, or authorization for, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • 3 years of Coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to community development.
 
Skills needed for the position:

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to analyze game situations and make quick, effective decisions. 
  • Leadership qualities: Effectively communicate the offensive vision to players and coaches. 
  • Technical knowledge: Deep understanding of offensive schemes and formations. 
  • Film analysis skills: Accurately interpret game film to identify trends and weaknesses. 
  • Adaptability: Adjust offensive strategies based on the opponent's defensive adjustments. 
  • A thorough knowledge of the game of Football.
  • Conflict Resolution.
  • Understand the Housing Rules and Regulations.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality is required. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative, collegial, and responsible work habits.
  •  The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds are required. 
  • Flexibility to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups.

Essential Duties:

General:
 
Ensures the safeguarding of all confidential files.
 
Attends and participates in all required training.
 
Maintains a positive and cooperative work attitude and work environment.
 
Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals.
 
Submits Student of Concern reports when necessary.
 
  • Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Attends and participates in all required training.
  • Reports to work at assigned work area no later than the scheduled time to begin each workday. 
  • Maintains a positive professional attitude and work environment.
  • Drive a college vehicle to the airport and certain local destinations.
  • Model the Way for students at ICC.

This position requires work and travel outside of Monday-Friday, including evenings, nights, and weekends to support the goals towards growth in the college.
 
Coaching:

Game planning: Design offensive strategies based on opponent's defensive tendencies, player strengths, and situational factors.

Play calling: Decide which plays to run during a game, often communicating with the quarterback on the field.

Offensive staff management: Oversee and coordinate the work of position coaches for the offensive line, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and quarterbacks.

Film analysis: Break down game film to identify strengths and weaknesses of the offense and the opposing defense.

Practice planning: Design and implement practice drills to develop offensive skills and game strategies.

Player development: Work with individual players to improve their technique and understanding of the offensive system.

Recruiting: Assist the Head Coach in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes.

Substitution patterns: Determine when to sub players based on situational needs.

Halftime adjustments: Analyze the first half of the game and make necessary offensive adjustments for the second half.

Participate in the selection and fitting of team equipment.

Promote the athletic program and specific sports through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.

Ensure adherence to all Association, Conference, and College rules by athletes and supporting staff.

Monitor academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed.

Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program.

As a member of the athletics department there may be other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

6.       This position requires that work is generally performed in outside areas, during hot and/or cold weather and exposure to elements such as rain, snow, dirt, fumes, and loud noises.
