Position Supervises:
RN, LPN, NA, US, Secretary I, and other technical staff
Job Summary:
Maintains primary responsibility for patient flow and bed placement house wide. Works with Nursing Office Staff, Team Leaders, and Managers to ensure appropriate utilization of human resources. Responsible for the supervision of Nursing Service activities and providing staff with additional management support, while maintaining professional standards and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures. Assists with maintaining patient safety through on-going communication with staff, Team Leaders and Managers. Responds to emergencies and assists with patient care and management as necessary. Participates in house wide performance improvement projects. Assists with staff development and promotes positive interdepartmental communications. Provides information related to status of house, including current census and patient/unit activity to physicians, administrators, managers, patient care staff and other members of the healthcare team.

Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program

Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Current PA RN License, Healthcare Provider CPR, and Act 33/73 clearances

Experience

Minimum:
Three years clinical nursing experience in an acute care facility.
⚬
Preferred:
Previous management/supervisory experience. Proficiency with IV insertion. Basic arrhythmia training.
