Position Overview:
As a Social Media Production and Events Assistant Intern, you’ll be working directly with our Marketing Coordinator, Liv Leonard, to produce weekly interview segments, such as "Insight into Independence," and assist with all things social media. You'll also help coordinate fun and exciting events, contributing to IHL’s marketing and community-building initiatives. This internship is perfect for graduating seniors or anyone passionate about social media, content creation, and event planning. After the internship ends, the IHL team will review the possibility for a full-time position.
Position start date: March - May 31st.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview Segment Production:
- Assist with the production of weekly interview segments, including video recording, editing, and post-production tasks.
- Help coordinate schedules with guests, set up interviews, and ensure content is ready for publication.
- Support social media team in promoting interview segments and engaging audiences through creative content.
Social Media Coordination:
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator to manage and schedule social media content across multiple platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
- Assist in content creation (graphics, videos, and captions) for daily and weekly posts.
- Monitor social media trends and assist in developing strategies to boost engagement and brand presence.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Support in the planning and executing internal and external events, from coordination to promotion.
- Assist with event marketing materials and social media coverage.
- Help ensure smooth event operations, including attending events and capturing content (photos/videos) for social media.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Open to graduating seniors who are ready to transition into a professional role.
- Interest in social media content creation and event coordination.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Hootsuite, Canva, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with video production and editing (basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc. preferred but not required).
- Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to fun events and campaigns.
