Substitute Cafeteria Worker (on an as-needed basis)

Assist in the general operation of the school cafeteria food preparation and carries out other specific duties as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Service Manager, as needed.

Qualifications:
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Some previous experience is preferred in the preparation and serving of food in a commercial or school cafeteria.
- Have the ability and knowledge to operate all available equipment and machines in the food preparation area.
- Have the ability to give clear written and oral directions.
- Have the ability to assist in maintaining a current inventory of all food and cafeteria equipment.

Assist in the general operation of the school cafeteria food preparation and carries out other specific duties as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Service Manager, as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Preparing food items.
- Adheres to prescribed recipes for food preparation.
- Completes essential functions and assists others, as needed, in preparing daily lunches.
- Adheres to rigid sanitary standards in food preparation.
- Sanitizes dish room equipment and tables daily.
- Fills and operates dishwasher.
- Assists in the kitchen and cafeteria clean-up and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Assists in shelving food deliveries and taking inventory
- Reports need for supplies and equipment to the Head Cook.
- Works at banquets as requested by Head Cook or Service Manager.
- Performs other cafeteria-related duties as assigned by the Head Cook or the Service Manager.
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Occasional interaction among unruly children.
