Independence Plus is now hiring a full-time Insurance Verification Specialist. This position will be based out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office and reports to the Revenue Qualifications Manager. Full benefits available; PTO, medical, dental, vision coverage and 401(k) plan.
The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorization for services, and ensuring accurate billing information. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of insurance policies, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Obtain prior authorization from insurance companies for required services and procedure
- Inform patients about their insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs
- Maintain detailed records of insurance verification and authorization processes
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues or discrepancies
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure necessary documentation is submitted for insurance claims
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures
- Address and resolve insurance verification and authorization issues; identify and troubleshoot insurance claim rejections or denials
- Assist in audits related to insurance verification and compliance
- Collaborate with management team to support billing department
