Description : The Summer Camp Supervisor is responsible for executing all camp activities, mentoring camp counselors in their professional growth and communicating with parents and other caregivers. The Summer Camp Supervisor will help with hiring Camp Counselors, preparing summer programs and activities and will conduct all necessary training of staff.
Qualifications :
- Demonstrated experience teaching young children, bachelor's degree or college coursework in the education, museum studies or related field required.
- Experience or interest in teaching environmental science and history preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring young professionals strongly preferred.
- Willingness to spend considerable time outside and on the water each day.
- Ability to prioritize the health and well-being of campers at all times.
- Ability to make decisions and adjust plans in real-time.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other counselors and Seaport Museum staff.
- Ability to row and maneuver rowboats and two-person kayaks preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of First Aid / CPR needed; certification not required but encouraged.
- Upon hiring, a PA Child Abuse History Clearance and State Criminal Record Check are required. (Museum paid)
- Must be available for all 6 weeks of camp (July 7 - August 15) plus training.
