Flooring Warehouse AssistantJob Summary:

The employee is responsible for assisting with the organization, storage, and distribution of flooring materials within the warehouse. This includes handling shipments, preparing orders for delivery, managing inventory, receiving the material into the computer, and ensuring the warehouse is maintained in a safe and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving and Unloading Shipments: Unload trucks, verify deliveries, and ensure products are in good condition.

• Inventory Management: Organize products by type, size, and color, ensure proper labeling, and track materials as they come in and go out.

• Material Handling: Use forklifts, pallet jacks, or boom-stick Hi-Lo’s to move heavy products, such as carpet rolls or large boxes of tiles, within the warehouse.

• Process Paperwork: Receive goods into RFMS, submit fulfilled job packets for scheduling, and match invoices to packing slips for Accounts Payable (AP).

• Product Organization: Ensure products are stored efficiently and easily accessible, maintaining a neat and organized warehouse.

• Quality Control: Inspect products for damage before shipping or delivery to ensure only high-quality materials are sent out.

• Customer Service: Assist with loading orders for installers or customers and respond to inquiries regarding stock or order status.

• Assist Other Departments: Provide support to the sales team, installers, showroom staff, or management as needed.

• Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and safe by regularly performing cleaning duties.

Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds or more) and perform manual labor.

• Driver’s License & Insurance: Must be legal and insured to drive company fleet vehicles.

• Forklift Certification (if applicable): Some situations may require forklift operation.

• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in order picking, inventory management, and quality control.

• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Basic Math Skills: Ability to count, measure, and calculate basic inventory data.

• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety practices.

Working Conditions:

• Warehouse environment with varying temperatures depending on the season.

• Use of heavy equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.

• Occasional assistance with deliveries or pickups to suppliers or job sites.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous warehouse or logistics experience, especially in flooring or construction materials, is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
