Join our team at Independent Garage Door! We're a family-owned business that has proudly served Worcester County with excellent customer service for over 65 years. We are looking for a motivated individual to become a technician trainee, working alongside a senior Garage Door Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and servicing of residential and commercial garage doors.
As a technician, you'll travel to various service calls throughout the day, experiencing different tasks as our company provides both service and new installations. You will interact with customers daily across our service areas, making strong interpersonal skills essential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical components or machine parts
- Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Order replacement springs, sections, or slats
- Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair
- Remove parts or components from equipment
- Install hardware or other interior fixtures
- Fabricate parts or components
- Run wiring to connect equipment
- Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning
- Test mechanical equipment to ensure it's functioning properly
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Physically able to move items weighing 50-75 pounds
- Ability to bend, climb, reach, kneel, etc., for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
