Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care, nursing homes, or similar environments and will be skilled in providing care for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other memory-related conditions. This role requires a nurturing personality and the ability to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals according to dietary needs.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities as needed.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document daily activities, care provided, and any observations regarding the client's well-being.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a related field such as social work, nursing home care, or home care is preferred.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care .
- Certification in First Aid is desirable but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential for success in this role.
We will review current hours available and work with you to create a schedule. Drivers License is required. Background checks will be completed after interview prior to orientation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
